Pen had her harvest festival, this past weekend, at kindergarten. As an afternoon project for her to do while Lia had her nap, we made a harvest basket out of paper plates, for her to use in her harvest festival parade.

You will need:

2 x paper plates

stapler and staples

brown paint

string (optional)

coloured paper

scissors

glue

Start by drawing a line across your paper plate, you will need to cut a half circle out the inside of the paper plate. Once done, use the first plate to draw out the lines on the second plate so that they match up.

Once both plates are cut, staple around the entire plate.

Now let your little one paint their basket.

Once dried, thread string around the "handle" of the basket.

Take the coloured paper (we used the autumn colours red, brown and dark green) and cut out leaf shapes. Let your little one glue these onto both sides of the basket.

And there we go! A simple and oh so cute little basket for the autumn time! This would also make a very cute spring, or Easter basket, by choosing spring and easter colours or even a halloween basket for trick or treating. I hope you enjoy this easy craft idea with your kiddies!
